This site is about Frankoma pottery in general and Frankoma salt and pepper shakers in particular. My collecting goal is to find every shape of Frankoma shaker made in every glaze applied. I am about as close as fifteen years of collecting will bring me. New finds are coming slowly now so I have turned my efforts to displaying what I have found on the web. Along the way I have started other Frankoma collections and I will post those when time allows.
I will also post articles I have written for publication and the research information I have accumulated. I have a nearly complete collection of Frankoma catalogs and will bring those to you also. I strongly believe that Frankoma collectors need to do more precise research about their collections. That research could be put together into an accurate history of the Frankoma company. We have for too long accepted anecdotal evidence as the basis of Frankoma history.
I will not try to cover the whole field of Frankoma collecting, others have done comprehensive work there. The works of Schaum, Bess and Cox come to mind. Check the FFCA website for an overview of the published material available. What I cover will be, however, reviewed in detail. I hope this leads other collectors to do more detailed research on their collections, and I hope you enjoy the results!
